NYTimes Snippet: Besides, it may turn out that the most talked-about moments in the film are the least impeachable. Mr. Moore makes extensive use of obscure footage from White House and network-news video archives, including long scenes that capture President Bush at his least articulate. For the White House, the most devastating segment of "Fahrenheit 9/11" may be the video of a befuddled-looking President Bush staying put for nearly seven minutes at a Florida elementary school on the morning of Sept. 11, continuing to read a copy of "My Pet Goat" to schoolchildren even after an aide has told him that a second plane has struck the twin towers. Mr. Bush's slow, hesitant reaction to the disastrous news has never been a secret. But seeing the actual footage, with the minutes ticking by, may prove more damaging to the White House than all the statistics in the world.

My opinion on President
Putin's statement is that it is politically motivated and was made at the
request of GB probably when they met at last week's summit.
1. It maintains Russia's position on Iraq. The fact that Putin left the
question regarding the questionability of the US having cause for a
pre-emptive strike open.
2. It made Russian Intelligence appear more knowledgeable and competent
than USI; he underlined the fact that the CIA and the RIS have close ties
and that GB was grateful to the RIS.
3. He showed his displeasure with Bush by;
a) Releasing this statement
at this time, when Bush is making claims of an Iraq/al-Qaeda connection.
b) Underlining and backing up intelligence claims to the contrary.
c) Re-affirming his position on Iraq.
4. The concession to Bush that they were planning attacks after 9-11
leaves Bush with some more rope to hang himself and a way out of the
current scandal over the connection claims. This shows that he has helped
Dumbya. Not a small point.
5. Over all I would say Russia wants GB out just as much as the rest of
us, but that we have shared interests and even though Bushco is a complete
disaster , those ties must not be let go.
Y fsyo, ya ne znaio kak vwi, no mne nadayella eto mudak katory zhivyot v bilom domowi.
Putin is very cleverly giving GB enough rope to hang himself, while at the same time giving him what appears to be a concession but is in fact another Pandora's box which Bush may open. (I hope none of the neo-cons are reading this, it might give them ideas.) As for being foolish this administration has set back US-RUSSIA relations by almost ten years. Shrub calling Vladimir Putin (pooty-poot), blocking Russian participation in rebuilding Iraq, and dozens of other actions have not made the US very loved here. So Putin, in aligning with general European sentiment and in continuing his stance against the Invasion is guaranteeing Russia's safety at home and soothing Muslim hatred for Russia. Very, very well done if you ask me. I feel much safer here, under such policies than I do anywhere near Bush-land.
Have a nice day, and goodnight from MOSCOW.

CHILDREN TORTURED?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Lord Help Us
Has the world gone mad?!?! Apparently not only have Iraqi men been tortured and humiliated, women raped, and prisoners killed, but now it is slowly coming out that even children may have been tortured in Iraq. I am in disbelief that this could have happened, it sickens and disgusts me to the point where I am at a loss for words. If this is true and I keep saying "if", because somehow it doesn't seem to want to register with the conscious mind that something so heinous could have been done and even worse sanctioned by the government, if this is true we must do something drastic. I am sickened.

Happy Russia Day
Today was Russia Day, as it
is called now, it was called Independence Day but for most Russians this
has never exactly seemed a proper name for the holiday. For most Russians
it was, and perhaps is, unclear what was being celebrated.
Many joke that we are celebrating being free of ourselves and of our
territories, for many this is still a bitter point in the collapse of the
Soviet Union, the loss of territory and Super-Power status, many Russians
feel that it could have been possible to end the Soviet system without
losing so much. You can read Vladimir Putin’s speech here

Memories of Right Wing Reagan
I think most
of us had very difficult lives when Reagan was president, I know I did.
His death, like his illness, diminished capacity in the White House, and
the Bush planned assassination attempt on his life have all been
used by the Bush family for their own gain, you would think that in death
they could respect him. Now they have taken his death and used it to
advance their own campaign as well.
This latest has taken our attention from Mr. AWOL's abysmal failures in
Europe and before the U.N., the US papers are touting the UN decision as
some great victory for the United States when basically the UN has decided
unanimously that the US should getthe **** out of Iraq.
Enough already on Reagan. I remember when the Republicans took power and
started taking away all of the gains made by minorities thinking that they
were like nazis, Reagan being the head stormtrooper, that is what I
remember of Reagan. And how all of a sudden abortion was the hot topic,
and the poor were a burden on society, and how all of our problems were
caused by the poor immigrants who were stealing our jobs. That is what I
remember. It is sad when anyone dies, but enough already. I always
remember how he used to have to use cue cards even at social functions.

clearest, simplest, most honest, open, objective appraisal of the events
of the second world war," Putin said.
He said Russia's wartime partners "speak openly and freely" of the Soviet
role, and dismissed what he said were people both abroad and in Russia who
belittle the Soviet contribution as "pseudo-researchers."
"The importance of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism is
impossible to dispute, but some -- strange as it seems, even in our
country ... still try to throw the contribution ... in doubt," he said.

June 6, 2004
Press statement
VLADIMIR PUTIN:
Good Day,
I must say that in my opinion, this is event that was organized by the
French President Jacques Chirac is very correct and timely. I see it in
the context of preparation for events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of
the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Second World
War as a whole.
As you know, international cooperation in the war on fascism and Nazism
began a long time before the Second World War. Essentially, the
anti-fascist forces began to unite in the war on fascism immediately after
Hitler came to power in Germany. And our first allies in this war were
German anti-fascists. As the conflict intensified, as the threat
increased, and particularly after the Second World War began, this
anti-fascist coalition was also consolidated.
And, of course, the second front in the wider sense of this word began a
long time before it was formally opened, as deliveries of weapons, food
and other aid to the Soviet Union from the allies, from the U.S.A., were
significant. And while the war was going on, everyone understood what the
Soviet Union’s efforts meant and what the allies’ aid meant.
Later, during the Cold War, the West suppressed the role and importance of
the Soviet Union in the war on Nazism for ideological and political
reasons, and we suppressed the role and importance of the second front and
the resistance that went in the home front of Hitler’s troops on the
occupied territories of Western Europe.
The Cold War is over. And now, I am absolutely convinced, the time has
come to look objectively at the events of 60 years ago. We all know well,
and everyone here knows well, that on the Western front, or as they say
the second front, around 1.5 million allied troops and about 560,000
German troops were concentrated. But on the Eastern front, about 4.5
million German troops and 6.5 million Soviet troops fought. Here the
allies had 11,000 planes, while the Germans had only 160 planes. Do you
see the difference?
Therefore, the importance of the victory over fascism, the importance of
the Soviet Union in this victory, cannot be disputed. Of course, some
pseudo-researchers, and strangely enough even in our country – out of
inertia, I assume – still attempt to cast doubt on the importance of the
Soviet Union’s contribution to the war on fascism. I think that this will
soon be forgotten. Especially as our partners, our allies during the
Second World War, talk about this openly and freely. You probably heard
today how persuasively the French President Jacques Chirac talked about
this. I must say that in a private conversation, the U.S. President told
me directly: «If it hadn’t been for Russia, none of this would have
happened». This is the most understandable, simple, honest, open and
objective assessment of the events of the Second World War. But we also
must not, and will not, disparage the role and the significance of our
allies in the war on fascism.
The opening of the second front was awaited impatiently in the Soviet
Union. It was an enormous event for our country and for the entire world,
and event which of course brought victory in the Second World War closer.
I think that today is the right time to remember this, bearing in mind
that the world faces new threats, threats that are quite serious. One of
them, as we know, is international terrorism, a war which also requires
unified efforts.
I repeat: our veterans, who fought side by side, shoulder to shoulder with
Nazism, including here, in France, give us a very good example. We will
try to follow this example, working consistently and persistently with our
partners to neutralize the threats that I have just mentioned.
Thank you.

Bush Losing His Mind! Looking for Lawyer
By John Robles
Well just as I was saying all
along, I am not going to say I told you so, but actually I did. I am
talking about GB being a dangerous whacko. The day that he was elected
president I told everyone I knew, if the topic came up for discussion,
that he would start a war within six months to a year and that is exactly
what happened. At the time I had no idea that in order to, (bring it on!),
the events of 9-11 would take place, but they did, and as George said at
the time he had,"... hit the trifecta!" Now I am not saying that George
Bush caused 9-11, although he and his big business cronies profited most
of all and this would cause any thinking person to be suspicious, but it
sure helped him to put his plans into motion; his plan to invade Iraq, to
start war, and to subjugate the American People to the will of the
neo-cons. Those are the facts, I am not telling you anything new. Now
things are coming full circle and it will soon be time to pay the piper.
This is a dangerous man and my fear is that as he begins to feel the heat
and sense his past coming back to haunt him he will try to do something
monumental in scope. With each passing day more and more comes out that
gives us a glimpse into the workings of the mind that we have all been
subjugated to for the last few years. Here is a man who fancies himself,
and wants to be viewed by the world as a great "War President", his own
words tell us that, his likening his invasion of a sovereign nation under
false pretenses and the resulting quagmire to the great victories of WWII
tell us even more how off-base he is.
To fully understand this megalomaniac one has to look at his past, what is
available in the public record is enough to start with. Here is a man who
grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth, no doubt subjugated to intense
pressure and expectations as a child; he grew up in a cocoon surrounded by
Secret Service men, and people coddling him. As he grew up he lost respect
for individual human lives seeing people as pawns to be used to further
his own ends, this is clear and evident from the way he treats his
subordinates. This is what he learned from his privileged childhood and
authoritarian parents. People were afraid to anger him because of who his
father was, and he learned to use this, first in his college years, and
then later in life, he grew up uninterested, spoiled, and angry. He tried
to deny his own New England roots, instead choosing to pretend to be some
great Texan oil man. Which he is not.
With each and every greater deed came greater and greater failure, but
these were all taken care of. So now we have a man who thinks that he can
do, say, cause, and inflict whatever he wants and someone else will always
take the blame. Only this time it won't happen that way. At least I hope
not!
As for his delusions of persecution and his "Jesus complex", this was
brought on by abusive parents, his own view that he is better than the
rest of us, a mixing of "holier-than-thou" conservative ideology, and an
intellect, quite frankly, not intelligent enough to deal with the world
around him.
At present he is in denial, and refuses to accept a reality that is not in
sync with his own delusional architecture, and his own vision of himself
as the hand of God. This should be clear to his aids and those close to
him, I think for the sake of our own safety and the safety of the world
this man must be contained.
Were I talking about a patient at a mental institution I would recommend
further treatment, but I am talking about the president of the United
States of America, who with his desire to view himself as a great "war
leader" may bring about WWIII.
The latest firing made it easier to draw my conclusions, as the CIA has a
building named after his father, (for shame!) he views this (DCI) as his own
plaything, first he uses the director as a scapegoat, then in a fit of
temper he fires him for no good reason. And let us not forget that all the
claims of "bad intelligence", were a result of GB telling everyone to only
bring him information that fit into his own view of things. Remember that
George Tenet tried to warn GB prior to 9-11.
I think George Tenet's statement upon his firing may give us an idea of
how far GB may go, Tenet said, ""And while Washington and the media will
put many different faces on the decision, it was a personal decision, and
had only one basis -- in fact, the well-being of my wonderful family --
nothing more and nothing less." Could it be that our psychopathic,
delusional, megalomaniac GB threatened Mr. Tenet's family? Just a thought, I
would not be surprised.
Maybe it is time Bush was made to step down, "today", he is apparently unfit to be
in office.
Well I have had enough, I have developed a splitting migraine and need to
get some sleep, so until next time, be careful, and goodnight.

Bush Still a "Pendejo!"
By John Robles
Having spent most of the day blogging around had no time to peruse the news, Bush still bent on world domination. What is disturbing is that there have been massive Naval movements happening all over the world, perhaps the US is preparing to invade another country? Will look for more on this.
Any intelligent dialogue involving defense must also include dialogue regarding diplomacy. We will never be safe as long as new enemies are being made everyday. Mr. "Bring 'em on!" 's style of diplomacy brought us 9-11 and the current quagmire in Iraq. Every passing hour brings us all closer to the brink as long as George Walker Bush is in office. Of this I am sure.
What can be done? The United States of America used to be a symbol of strength, of freedom, and of opportunity. We had allies the world over who admired, trusted, and looked to us for guidance. The world believed that we were the answer, that we could solve any and every problem. We were viewed as a compassionate and multi-facetted nation, strong and fair, compassionate and wise, ready to assist and help the weak and the defenseless.
Now that has all changed, and that change began at home, right on the corner, at the local college, at the supermarket, and all the local places where people meet and interact, in the streets of America. What am I talking about? About the little Indian looking kid who gets beat up all the time for nothing, about the black family who is terrorized for nothing, about the Arab kid who is kicked around for nothing, about the Mexican girl who will never have a chance to be someone, I am talking about the Chinese kid who is taunted, and the Jewish kid who is afraid to leave his home, and all the Russians, Koreans, Italians, Armenians, Puerto Ricans, and every other ethnic group that makes up our nation, the American Indians who live in exile, women and all the people who are alienated and ostracized every day, people as diverse and varied as the world we live in, people who have to live knowing that they will never have a chance at the American dream, because they are different. Different from whom? From the fat rich men who control everything. These are people who have to listen to the Rush Limpbrains, the Ann Culteers, and the George Bushes spew their own version of how things should be day after day year after year, a version of reality where only they benefit, and God forbid one should stand up to their fascist, racist, holier-than-thou ideology and rhetoric.
The US has become a police state where the individual has no rights. The government that the reeepoooplicans have given us can be called nothing less than fascist. In the name of our own security they tell us that they are taking away our rights, and using the fear that they have instilled in us they wish to control us even further. They use terror, and when George Bush proclaimed that he had hit the trifecta upon hearing of 9-11 it was clear as day, they are the terrorists, they have used terror to take control of our country, the have used it to stifle dissent, they have used it to cow the once great American people into passivity. Then they flaunt their insidious deeds in front of our eyes, and we can do nothing to stop them. They send soldiers to die for no real reason, and we can not stop them. They take away our rights as if they were theirs to be taken away, and we do nothing. They exploit, pollute, rape, and desecrate everything and anything they want in order to line their pockets. We do nothing.
So what can we do to protect our great country, we can live by the values that are supposed to make us a great nation, we can be a fair and just and peace-loving society, we can instill ideals, tolerance, and understanding in our people, we can strive to be the great and just nation that is our heritage and we will be loved again by all.
Or we can continue to follow the path we are on to hell.
How can we protect ourselves? By not having so many enemies.
If terrorism is the disease, we need to attack the root of the problem. In my humble opinion that begins with the Arab kid down the street who gets beat up everyday and will grow into the next terrorist.
If this post is taken down right away I will understand why. I am sure to make people uncomfortable, but that is what free speech is all about isn’t it?
You all have a great evening. It has been an honor posting here.

Were they to be made aware of this fact, I have no doubt that it would not change anything. That is my opinion. John Robles

If it is possible to parody the parody that the neo-racisists have made of democracy then perhaps this George Orwellian site should give you a thing or two to think about.
Along the same lines you can find similiar views and a parody of the Fascist State at the following link.
I was surfing and came across this well written if somewhat cut and dried look at the situation which has been unfolding in the US since the days of Reagan.
Quote: "The extreme methods being pushed by the neocons are the measure of their desperation. They are on the way out – out of power, out of credibility, and out..."

The President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, had this to say, "Asked about George W. Bush in a press conference, he replied that the US president was a pendejo." Can I quote a quote? In Russian pendejo would be mudak, and in English, asshole.

From Time " " F___ Saddam. we're taking him out." Those were the words of President George W. Bush, who had poked his head into the office of National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice. It was March 2002, and Rice was meeting with three U.S. Senators, discussing how to deal with Iraq through the United Nations, or perhaps in a coalition with America's Middle East allies. Bush wasn't interested. He waved his hand dismissively, recalls a participant, and neatly summed up his Iraq policy in that short phrase. The Senators laughed uncomfortably; Rice flashed a knowing smile. The President left the room."

Judge: Bush Abortion Ban Unconstitutional. "SAN FRANCISCO - In a ruling with coast-to-coast effect, a federal judge declared the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act unconstitutional Tuesday, saying it infringes on a woman's right to choose." In a statement, the Bush re-election campaign said: "Today's tragic ruling upholding partial birth abortion shows why America needs judges who will interpret the law and not legislate from the bench. ... John Kerry's judicial nominees would similarly frustrate the people's will and Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah I guess when the stinking fascists say the "people's will" they mean their own, and that women are not people, or should not have wills. God they make me sick. Abortion is a woman's personal decision, choice, and a dilemma that we, as a society, should try to help with.
